The infamous “
shirtlessyogurt Mike” deleted scene - Graceland S1
Really not feeling my usual cheerfully pessimistic self today.
In fact I feel rather down and I don’t even know why.
In the musical adaptation of Les Miserables, I find that the absolute saddest moment by far is in “One Day More”, when the Thenardiers sing the line “Most of them are goners/So they won’t miss much!”.
At this point, unbeknownst to them, they are directly referring to their eldest and most beloved daughter (and also to Gavroche, and whilst they don’t exactly care about him, it’s still heartbreaking).
Sure, they may be the “villains” of the piece (NOT Javert - which I will post about another time), but they don’t deserve to have to bury their children.
I dunno, it just gets to me, every time. Maybe it’s just me.
An even sadder thing is that Eponine and Gavroche die and they Thenardier’s don’t even seem to care.
June 8th 793: Viking invasion of England begins
On this day in 793, Vikings raided the abbey at Lindisfarne in Northumbria, thus beginning the Scandinavian invasion of England. The abbey was a famous centre of learning across the continent, and many of the resident monks were killed by the Vikings and the abbey’s treasures were taken. The invasion shocked the Christian West and alerted Europe to the Viking threat; many consider it the beginning of the Viking Age.
“Never before has such an atrocity been seen”
- Alcuin of York, 793
Is it me or like, almost everybody that starts watching the show loves it?
Basically, if you don’t like murdoch mysteries, it’s probably because you’ve never seen it.
